MISER-SI is designed to optimise investment in water supply systems, building on the rich functionality of the existing MISER suite of software.
MISER-SI will:
identify the optimal set of schemes to maintain the required supply-demand balance at minimum cost
identify opportunities to save costs by choosing the best value combination of schemes and deferring required capital
create a soundly-based investment programme to meet customer demands and regulatory requirements
optimise the operation of the supply system whilst simultaneously selecting the best schemes
MISER-SI can:
model complex abstraction licences
handle peak and average conditions
calculate the Long Run Marginal Cost
include analysis of inter-zone schemes
take account of deployable output constraints
incorporate all infrastructure constraints
handle both demand management and supply schemes
handle complex dependencies between schemes
MISER-S and MISER-SI
The core module MISER-S is normally used to identify options for the strategic operation of water resource and supply systems - for example to determine the risk of supply-demand imbalance or to minimise the operating costs of bulk transfers. Such analyses are based on a fixed set of assets, although periods of unavailability of existing assets and the introduction of new assets are taken into account in the modelling.
