Two main interfaces are provided in MISER-PSL. The schematic
interface provides full functionality for model editing and results
output, including multiple update and standard drawing facilities.
A menu-driven switchboard interface is available, which provides
simplified access and may be preferred by operations for
reviewing results, setting operational targets, entering outages
and so on.
Monitoring Performance
Optimal reservoir profiles and demand forecasts are used
for performance monitoring to compare predicted operation
against actual behaviour. Telemetry data are continually
downloaded throughout the day, and can be displayed on
the schematic and included in graphs and tables for
comparison with optimisation results. Deviations may
represent a warning of uncharacteristic network behaviour,
indicating unplanned plant outage or a burst for example.
